Department of Clinical Medicine

This department is engaged in the clinical studies associated with Minamata Disease : studying the clinical profile of the Minamata Disease patients, developing method for objective diagnosis, studying the occurrence mechanism of nerve-cell damage and developing remedial therapies. Important social studies, such as health surveys and development of health management systems in the Minamata Disease outbreak area, are also undertaken.
